More Than a Marketplace — A Movement

“The soul of every community resides in its local homesteads and hobby farms.”

At Red Barn Collaborative, we believe that the soul of every community resides in its local homesteads and hobby farms. Our mission is to bridge the gap between hard-working producers and conscious consumers who value the quality of fresh, non-commercial goods.

By providing a dedicated platform, we empower small-scale growers to share their unique harvest directly with neighbors who appreciate the craft of genuine agriculture.

We are more than just a marketplace; we are a movement towards sustainable, transparent connections.

The People Behind the Platform

We’re a military family who had the privilege of living all across this amazing country — experiencing firsthand the diversity and resilience of local communities. Through every move and new beginning, one thing stayed clear: the most meaningful connections are found closest to home.

When we finally found our forever farm in a quiet valley in Idaho, something clicked. We fell in love with all things farm fresh and locally crafted. But what surprised us was how many people — even long-time locals — didn’t know the families behind the honey on their table or the produce at the market down the road.

That realization sparked Red Barn Collaborative. A simple but powerful desire to connect people — to help everyday families discover and support the incredible producers right in their own communities. We’re not just building a platform. We’re cultivating connection.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Red Barn Collaborative free for customers?
Yes — 100% free for customers. Signing up, browsing farms, reserving products, getting harvest drop alerts, and messaging farmers is always free. You pay only for the goods you purchase directly from the farm at pickup. No subscription, no platform fees, ever.
How do I know the products are actually local?
Every farm on our platform is verified to be a real local producer. We show you the exact distance to each farm and encourage customers to leave honest reviews to maintain community trust.
How does pricing work for farmers?
Farmers pay a simple flat monthly storefront fee — think of it like renting a booth at the farmers market. This covers your storefront, inventory tools, harvest drop blasts, subscriptions, and customer messaging. We never take a commission from your sales. You set your prices and collect payment directly from customers at pickup.
What if I'm a small hobby farmer — can I still list?
Absolutely! Red Barn Collaborative was built for hobby farms and homesteads. Whether you have 6 hens or 600, if you're producing something good, your neighbors want to find you.
Can I combine products from multiple farms in one checkout?
Not in v1. Each checkout stays within a single farm storefront so pickup timing, inventory, and farmer approval stay simple and reliable. Multi-farm carts can come later.
How do harvest drop notifications work?
When you list a new product or have fresh stock available, you can send a notification to customers who have saved your farm or are within a set distance. They get a push notification or email so they can reserve before it sells out.
When will the platform launch?
We're actively building and onboarding farms. Sign up below to be notified the moment your area goes live — and to lock in early access pricing.
